Charles Ingoldsby

Senior Associate

Charles Ingoldsby (P.Eng) has over 20 years of experience in the sulphur and fertilizer industries.  He began his career at Agrium (now Nutrien), working across their Western Canadian Operations.  Charles spent 16 years at Shell, where he was recognized as a subject matter expert in sulphur handling.  During this time he held progressively senior roles in engineering, sales, procurement, logistics, and innovation.  He was instrumental in the development and commercialization of the Shell Thiogro product line and contributed to many industry innovations.   

 

Charles has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.   He has also served on the Technical Advisory Committee for Alberta Sulphur Research, contributing to advancements in sulphur processing and related technologies.

Dr. Kent Martin

Senior Associate and Farmer

Dr. Kent Martin was born and raised on a family farm and ranch operation in northwest Oklahoma. He received his BS and MS degrees from Oklahoma State University in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences focusing on precision soil nutrient management and remote sensing. He then obtained his PhD from Kansas State University in the Department of Agronomy focusing on nutrient management and the interaction of soil nutrients and crop physiology. During his PhD work, Dr. Martin managed the full-service soil, water, and fertilizer analytical laboratory for Kansas State University. Dr. Martin then took a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy as a 70% extension and 30% research appointment.

 

Following the time at KSU, he moved back to the family farming operation and started full time agricultural and environmental consulting. During his consulting career, Dr. Martin has worked with numerous international and domestic clients focusing on fertilizer development and marketing, land reclamation, and other special projects. Kent currently operates the family farm with his wife and two children.

Peter Zissos

Co-founder and Principal Consultant

With over 20 years of experience in the sulphur industry, Peter Zissos is a recognized leader in global sulphur markets, logistics, and value-added applications. During his tenure at Shell, Peter served as Vice President of Agriculture and Forestry, and was instrumental in developing and promoting ThioGro, an advanced suite of fertilizer technologies that enhances sulphur nutrition in global agricultural applications. His expertise spans across sulphur supply chain management, trading, and strategic market development, particularly in the intersection of sulphur and fertilizer solutions.
 
As Co-founder of EZ Sulphur, Peter brings a deep understanding of sulphur-based fertilizers and their impact on global agriculture. He continues to provide industry-leading insights, helping clients optimize their strategies in the evolving sulphur and fertilizer markets.
Ken Ellzey

Co-founder and Principal Consultant

Throughout his career, Ken held key leadership positions at Freeport-McMoRan and Savage Services, developing and leading sustainable sulphur business strategy to balance serving client’s needs, engaging employees, and delivering economic improvements. He is highly qualified and tested with a leadership style that focuses on understanding client challenges first and working collaboratively to offer transparent solutions.  He succeeded in tackling complex challenges in ways that offered new strategic options to access global markets. Integrity is a cornerstone in the way he consults for and advises clients.


Ken had the honour of being selected by industry to serve as 2007/2008 chairperson of The Sulphur Institute.
